Travel By Train: London Victoria - Shanklin Now I didn't plan on doing any more challenges after riding every London bus route in London and walking the London Loop and Capital Ring, except for this long term one that will probably end up taking my entire life. I have previously visited every single London Underground station, as well as exiting and entering every single one, and my intention is to do a similar thing with all of the main National Rail stations in Great Britain, but only by being on a train that stops at every single one, not actually exiting or entering the station. When I decided to count up how many stations I had been to so far, it was quite difficult to get an accurate number as there's a lot to get through. Early Morning Walks: Woolwich - Woolwich The Capital Ring is a 78 mile circular walk around London, and so is very similar to the 150 mile London Loop, except this time runs more in Inner London rather than the outskirts, hence, the shorter length. I didn't really plan on doing it after London Loop as some small parts of it followed previous walks that I had come up with, but I was always intending to do the first section as it went to places I wanted to visit for a while. However, after looking at the route in closer detail, I thought I'd give the entire thing a go, although it may seem strange that I decided to do a longer circular walk around London before deciding to do the shorter variant. The walk starts in Woolwich, right outside of the portal of the southern entrance to the foot tunnel that runs under the Thames, and which provides a good view of the Free Ferry service running across to the north. Infiltrating A Pub: Uxbridge - Purfleet 8 days into the London Loop, an orbital walking path around the outskirts of London, I'm now about halfway through and find myself back at Uxbridge to continue for the next section, which starts off back along the Grand Union Canal again, heading north. Almost immediately, you come across the first lock on this section, where you swap over on to the right side of the water. You stay on the right side as you pass underneath the A40, where you then switch back over to the left, as I take a small break from the Loop. That's because I noticed that the Colne Valley Regional Park is only a short walk away from the canal here, so I thought I'd give it a quick explore, walking up to see the visitor centre, and noticing how in this area, there seems to be a lot of smaller rivers like the Colne or the Misbourne, and larger lakes around. Back on the Loop, you cross back over the canal again, and strangely walk away from it on a path near to them...
